I'm bringing back the old Domino "Can This Outfit Be A Room" or whatever they called it. I strongly believe that fashion influences our interiors and it is my dream to take a look into people's closets and interpret that into a space for them.

This may not be a known fact to those who do not see me in work attire: I am addicted to ruffles. Seriously, I cannot get enough of them. 

Don't get me wrong; ruffles can often go HORRIBLY wrong a-la  Seinfeld's "Puffy Shirt." 

Even worse, you could end up like the Purple One. 

Um, yes, that's me. 

There is a time, however, when ruffles are made right. Deliberate and crisp. Case in point, below.

Designer Kristin Potenti has debuted her line called Self Assured at Etsy.com. Her collection bravely celebrates everything the ruffle should be: bold and refined. 

You bet your ass I'll be using this as inspiration for a room. Stay tuned.

Dinner by Design

Weekend eats by Chef Boy-R-B! You know, something he just 'threw together.' 

Pan-seared grouper on a bed of soba noodles in a coconut milk sauce, topped with roasted tomatoes, red peppers, and pineapple. 

This is why I pretend I can't cook.

What to do with an awkward nook

With B studying for the FL Bar exam at the dining room table and my "office" infringing on our kitchen island, it was time to get a desk in the bedroom.  

Another reason was the growing collection of beloved photographs that had no home in my house. I couldn't decided between B&W or do all color groupings was paralyzing and I put it off for months. I just said what the f, let's just put everything together gallery-style.

So off to Ikea on a Friday (July 3rd at that!) where I came home and lucked out: the Ikea Ribba picture ledges fit the nook perfectly so there was no need for cutting. 

Here's the play-by-play. I'm not completely done but it's good for now.

Sewing the cover was an adventure. Once I squished it over the legs, B commented that while it was nice, you couln't sit and put your legs under the desk. D'oh! More later. This was tiring.

I love lamp!

Scored this from Home Goods today. As I've said before, I had to buy this lamp so nobody else could have it. Yeah, I am a huge brat.

Looks lonely, right? Should I go back and snag the other one???
